Provide healthy water & food for 5,953 children

The project "Provide safe water and food to 5953 children" aims to drill boreholes and produce vegetables through agroecological practices in 11 primary schools in rural areas. This is an opportunity to allow 5,953 students to have drinking water and healthy lunches. The project's activities started on September 1st, 2022 thanks to AFDD's own funds and grants from the Paris City Hall. The funding amounts to 11,000 euros, not enough to carry out the projects in all schools.

 Schools in Yombo and Sekia-Dallet villages were trained in agroecology in November 2022 and received agricultural inputs (vegetable seeds, tools and other materials). Regarding drinking water Sekia-Dallet school received water borehole. Because of the lack of funding, the Yombo school received a water well as part of the "Modeste Mondossi Fund" created by the AFDD. Nzilla and M’Poko Bac schools received water borehole last year.

 On January to July 2023, three schools (Yombo, Sekia-Dalet and Nzilla sowed 126 vegetables bord (see table below).

The schools have started to prepare vegetable boards in November. The site of vegetable garden have been flooded due to the rainy season in September to October.

FOURTH REPORT OF PROJECT: “PROVIDING SAFE WATER AND FOOD TO 5,953 CHILDREN”
