Care Still Out of Reach for PLWD with Aids

By Joy Ojochogwu Etubi | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

We sincerely thank you who have supported the Provide Medical Help for Disabled People with HIV+ project. Your generosity shows compassion for individuals facing both health challenges and social barriers. We truly appreciate the support received so far, however, the funds available at this time are still not enough to begin the planned medical services.

In many urban slum communities, people living with disabilities and HIV face serious obstacles when trying to access care. Some are turned away due to stigma, while others cannot reach health facilities because of mobility challenges or lack of support.

Without proper treatment and guidance, many continue to suffer from preventable complications. Limited access to information also increases the risk of further transmission, as some individuals are unaware of how to manage their condition safely.

This project is designed to provide free medical care, wheelchairs, and accessible HIV education in local languages. It will also bring services closer through mobile clinics where patients can receive care in a respectful and supportive setting.

With these services in place, individuals can access treatment, improve their health, and move more freely within their communities. It also helps reduce stigma and promotes better understanding of HIV care.

We are grateful for the support already shown toward this effort. With additional contributions, it will be possible to begin delivering care to those who urgently need it.

Sincerely,

Joy Ojochogwu Etubi
