judith
Judith is just one of the many women who have benefited from learning how to harness the sun's power to prepare food and purified water for her family.
Originally from Gulu in war-torn Northern Uganda, Judith fled the violence. On one occasion, Judith and her family were locked up in a house by the insurgents. Two of her brothers were taken and killed. Petrified, Judith headed south. She found refuge in the Acholi Quarter in 1995 and it has become her home.
Judith is married and together, they care for five children. Three are their own and an orphaned neice and nephew. To earn money to pay for food and rent, Judith supplements her husband’s income by rolling paper beads for Project Have Hope and occasionally selling second hand clothes. Despite her efforts, Judith still struggles. Through using a solar reflector and a cooking bag, she is now able to reduce the cost of buying charcoal and is better able to provide for her family.
For just $10, you can provide the means for a family to have access to clean water.
$10 means improved health outcomes, increased hours of productivity at work, and a more hopeful future for an impoverished family.
Hope and a little help make all the difference. Together we can transform the community of the Acholi Quarter.
