Fund Source of Income for Wheelchair Users - Egypt

Greetings from Alhassan Foundation to all believers & supporters around the globe,

Thank you our dear donor! During the last few month, we were able to fund around 30 small projects in 2018 alone so far for around $1,200 each. These projects are diverse, productive & successful.

Alhassan FDN finances, monitors & partners in micro & small developmental projects for wheelchair users across all 27 governorates of Egypt. Let’s share with you a couple of their success stories to know how much impact you our dear donor have done.

Our first business owner is a 31 years old man and his wife, his name is Hamed (& his wife Sabrine)

Location: Luxor, Egypt

Injury: Paraplegic (Car accident) & his wife Paraplegic due to falling from 2nd floor.

Project type: Small convenient store

Cost: 7,700 LE (less than $1000).

Progress: They used to depend on financial aids and family support. After the fund, they allocated a room in their house for selling commodities to the public and became financially independent.

Our next business owner is a 48 years old man, his name is Mahmoud Hussien

Location: Cairo, Egypt

Injury: Quadriplegic.

Project type: Textile & Clothing store.

Cost: 15,000 LE (around $1000)

Progress: he used to work in a reputable company, but got released after the injury. He desperately needed a job to support his wife and 4 kids. After the fund, he leased a store close to his house and started with few commodities then he became able to expand and now he is supporting his family and paying his medical debts.

We have more & more success stories for older & younger persons with disabilities were able to achieve great progress and overcome real challenges, whether they are females & males, old or young, paraplegic or quadriplegic.

Thank you our dear donor! You were able to draw a smile on dozens of persons with disabilities’ faces since we started this project. They were able to start their own project investing in your donation, and they built a decent source of living for themselves & their families.

During the past few months your support helped us funding many projects for underprivileged wheelchair users. We funded several projects such as cattle breeding, bakeries, grocery stores, local convenient store, and a lot more.

We also have amazing news that we are not only helping wheelchair users start their own projects, but also we are helping others of them who want to get hired in good companies that provide accessible workplace for wheelchair users. We succeeded to have an agreement with Careem as one of the biggest ride sharing companies in Egypt. They offered to hire wheelchair users as captains with convenient conditions to protect the driver & passenger safety so they are now working on their own cars and having a decent source of income.
