The impact of limited textbooks on students' academic performance at the Carolyn A. Miller School.

By Abigail S. Teah | Media Communication Officer

The Carolyn A. Miller High School is faced with a lack of insufficient textbooks. This issue is causing a serious problem in our student’s academic performance. It makes it tough for our students to study and learn effectively.

It really stinks when schools don’t have enough textbooks for everyone, and Carolyn A. Miller High School is currently in this situation. One major challenge is the cost. Textbooks can be quite expensive, and our students cannot afford to purchase them.

Carolyn A. Miller High School is a tuition free institution that was established 2007, for the sole purpose of helping thousands of underprivileged children in Liberia.  Children, who are attending the CAMHS, cannot afford to buy their own textbooks.

Even though the administration provides textbooks for teachers to present their lessons, it becomes very difficult for them to cover the entire curriculum in a year.  Many of the teachers told the administration that it is easier to teach when there are textbooks available for the students. In addition, they also said, the lack of the insufficient textbooks can lead to time consumption.

At Carolyn A. Miller High School, we believe it’s important for us to prioritize providing enough textbooks so that every student has an equal opportunity to learn and thrive.

We are charitably asking all donors to please help us solve this challenge face in at the CAMHS. With your generous donation, we can make a real difference in the lives of these students. Through your support we will be able to purchase new books, create reading spaces, and organize engaging literacy events. Your donations will also directly contribute to the educational growth and future success of these students.

Please consider supporting our project, if you believe in the power of literacy and want a positive impact. Your contribution, no matter the size, will help us create a brighter future for these young kids.
