Did you know uniforms could restore confidence?
Did you realize that some children in Africa do not have confidence to go to school because they do not have uniforms?
Well, this is what was happening in Hassantu's life. Hassanatu needed a boost in confidence and her parents were not in a position financially to provide the needed uniforms. Our kids need all the support that they can get in our turbulent, unstable society.
Thanks to the training that you have supported, one of our trainees at the Develop Africa Empowerment and Training Institute sewed uniforms for Hassanatu. In YouTube video, we see the trainee taking sewing measurements. We also see her confidently setting off to school.
Your support helped develop or cultivate the trainee's skill. The trainee then put her skills to use and sewed the needed uniforms. The shiny, new uniforms restored Hassanatu's confidence. Your support yielded a double harvest!
Thanks to YOU, Hassanatu can now go to school and learn confidently. Thanks for making the difference!
Best Wishes,
Develop Africa team

Sewing Project Process
Amid the outbreak of the Ebola epidemic in Sierra Leone, Door of Hope and the trainees of the Develop Africa Empowerment Training Institute initiated a sewing project to raise monies to help children made orphans by Ebola and other family members who lost love ones to the disease.
This initiative came after a nurse who served as a volunteer at Door of Hope and Develop Africa in the Wellington community died from the Ebola virus. Her husband, brother and sister also died from the epidemic.
The project included sewing handbags and outfits for sale. Proceeds are being used to help provide food items - such as sardines, eggs, cheese, juice - and money to people in the community who lost family members to Ebola.
It is our hope that proceeds from the sale of these items will increase so that we can also provide assistance to help keep the children from families that have lost their bread winners in school.
Your support is being multiplied and is helping Ebola-affected families. Thanks to your support, the trainees are using their skills to helping others and giving back. Thanks so much for your support - that helped to make this possible.

It's been an amazing year of progress. Over the past year, the Tailoring school at the Develop Africa Empowerment and Training Institute has provided Tailoring training for over 18 trainees. The topics covered include the following styles: Midi, Blouse and Skirt, Print, Float, Tuntorlah, Yoruba style, Sleeveless, Shirts and Pants.
Productivity, Growth and No More Idleness: Thanks to your support, as a result of the training received, the ladies no longer pay someone else to sew clothes for their children, themselves and their husbands. They are no longer idle. They have started obtaining small tailoring jobs – that help in providing for the home.
Thanks to your support, Mariama, one of the trainees, is now an expert tailor. At video link below Mariama tells her story. Her husband lost his job and Mariama was not able to continue her apprenticeship. She needed help and we together came to her aid. This footage captures her tailoring skills and her Instructor's gratitude to YOU. Thanks to your support, she is well on her way and self-sufficient.
Watch the video and see Marama's completed dress
Thanks so much for helping to make a huge difference in Mariama's life.
