As autumn arrived in Kyiv, the Voices of Children Center continued to be a safe and steady place for children and families living through the trauma of war. Thanks to the support of donors like you on GlobalGiving, hundreds of young people and their caregivers spent these months receiving care, connection, and moments of childhood joy.
Your 3 Month Impact Snapshot:
Every week, our team of psychologists offered individual therapy, group work, and creative psychosocial activities designed to rebuild emotional stability and strengthen family bonds.
From September through November, more than 650 children and adults turned to the Kyiv Center for support. Most were children who come to us carrying fear, stress, or difficult memories, but leave their sessions feeling lighter, calmer, and more confident.
September:
189 people supported through psychological support (146 children, 43 adults)
79 individual psychological consultations
249 children and adults reached through psychosocial activities
October:
232 beneficiaries supported through psychological sessions (186 children, 46 adults)
114 individual psychological consultations
364 participants joined in psychosocial sessions
November:
230 people supported through psychological sessions (196 children, 34 adults)
96 individual psychological consultations
377 children and adults joined psychosocial activities
Program Activities:
Children and teenagers attended psychological groups both at the Center and in nearby communities throughout the Kyiv region. These sessions help them strengthen emotional awareness, communicate feelings safely, and connect with peers through play-based and creative methods that feel natural and enjoyable.
Creative activities (including acting workshops, film clubs, storytelling sessions, and free play) allowed children to explore emotions, build confidence, and develop communication skills in a safe environment.
We also offered opportunities to step beyond therapy rooms and engage with the wider community. Children took part in filming projects, attended a charity football match with partners, and joined art workshops led by Ukrainian artists and musicians. These experiences brought excitement, cultural celebration, and joy into their lives.
Support for Parents:
Parents and caregivers were not forgotten. Through group programs like “Motherhood from A to Z” and psychoeducation meetings, families received guidance on stress, emotional development, communication, and coping strategies. Many caregivers share that these sessions help them feel stronger, calmer, and more connected to their children.
Looking Ahead:
The need for emotional and psychological support continues to grow. As the war stretches on, more families are seeking help to navigate trauma, fear, loss, and ongoing uncertainty. Your continued support ensures that the Kyiv Center can remain open, stable, and full of care—no matter what tomorrow brings.
Thank You!
Because of support from GlobalGiving and partners across the world, children can laugh, create, play, and speak freely in a place where they feel safe. Parents can ask for help without judgment. Families can begin to rebuild. Thank you for making the Voices of Children Center in Kyiv a place of healing and hope.
