This project will support daily feeding of 100 Muslim orphans in this time of extreme hunger and poverty in Nigeria from the conflict affected areas. The project beneficiaries are mainly less-privileged, orphans and Persons with disability that faces hardship in getting food to eat.
The scale of the current global hunger and malnutrition crisis is enormous, with an expected 345.2 million people projected to be food insecure - more than double the number in 2020 according to World Food Program of the UN. In Nigeria, the study identified that is 25 million families will are fighting to survive in famine-like conditions to provide for their families that has no access to daily meals. This project will therefore ease their challenge by providing free food for them.
Annually, HUCOMDEF provides free Sahoor and Iftaar meals to ease the suffering of starving less-privileged and PWD Muslims in Nigeria that faces challenges during the blessed month of Ramadan.
The project will complement the UN SDG 2: Zero Hunger in changing lives and helps to build human capital, support governments in strengthening food security, stabilize communities in particularly precarious places, and help them to better survive with their families.
