The distribution of the 2023 Ramadan Food Package as part of the “Ramadan Feed the fasting Muslim Orphans” Project. The food was distributed to Ten (10) Mosques/Islamic Centres located in Gusau, Zamfara State of Nigeria.
Before the commencement of the project, we had project planning meeting on how the project will be, during which it was suggested a category of Centres to be selected where the food package will be distributed.
The goal of the project is to feed 100 fasting Muslims daily for 30 days of the blessed month of Ramadan, thereby improving the lives of Orphans suffering in getting food for Sahoor and Iftaar. The goal of the project was $5,000 and the sum of $3,634 was raised from 64 donors. From the amount raised, the sum of $3,084 was received from GlobalGiving after deduction of about 19% by the Platform. Because the project doesn’t reached it’s goal, the number of beneficiaries was reduced from 3,000 to 1,500.
One Thousand Five Hundred (1,500) Muslim Orphans, Less Privileged and Persons with Disability directly benefitted at the total cost of $3,000 in 10 different centres during the month of Ramadan. Each food package contains Rice, Beans, Meat, Date,Vegetable, Water and Zobo and was prepared at $2.
