Ramadan Iftar for Gaza

Since the escalation of the conflict in Gaza, thousands of families have been displaced and cut off from access to basic needs, including clean water, food, and healthcare. The humanitarian crisis worsens each day, with children and vulnerable individuals facing severe malnutrition and hunger.

During the month of Ramadan—traditionally a time of family, community, and evening meals—many families in Gaza were left without the means to prepare or access food. With ongoing airstrikes, destroyed infrastructure, and the collapse of local markets, preparing iftar (the evening meal to break the fast) was simply impossible for many.

In response, YEÇED launched an emergency Ramadan hot meal distribution project for Gaza. With support from donors, we were able to prepare and deliver thousands of hot meals to families in need across the region.

Meals were carefully planned to be nutritious, culturally appropriate, and delivered safely to displaced and vulnerable communities. Each meal helped a family break their fast during one of the most challenging Ramadans they had ever experienced.

This campaign was specifically designed to meet urgent food needs during the month of Ramadan, a time when spiritual, social, and nutritional needs converge. As Ramadan has now concluded, this emergency hot meal project has officially come to an end.

While this specific initiative has closed, YEÇED remains committed to supporting the people of Gaza through long-term humanitarian projects focused on food security, clean water, child health, and emergency relief.
