Project Summary
Doctors Worldwide Türkiye (YYD) carried out comprehensive humanitarian aid operations across 30 countries on 3 continents throughout Ramadan 2026. Placing the spirit of sharing, solidarity, and brotherhood at the heart of its mission, YYD aimed to reach individuals and families struggling to access basic needs due to poverty, armed conflict, natural disasters, and economic hardship.
The operations were conducted across three core activity lines: distribution of food packages, organisation of iftar meals, and the delivery of zakat al-fitr and fidya payments to those in need. All activities were implemented in accordance with humanitarian principles, in close collaboration with local partners, and with full transparency.
Achievements and Impact
Through the 2026 Ramadan Operations, Doctors Worldwide Türkiye (YYD) successfully reached over 130,000 beneficiaries across 30 countries on 3 continents, delivering meaningful and measurable humanitarian impact during the holy month of Ramadan.
A total of 8,836 food packages were distributed to vulnerable households facing food insecurity due to poverty, conflict, and displacement. Additionally, 85,545 iftar meals were provided, ensuring that thousands of individuals were able to break their fast with dignity. Zakat al-fitr and fidya payments were also delivered to priority beneficiaries in need.
The operations spanned 16 countries in Africa, 12 countries in Asia, and 2 countries in Europe, reflecting the organisation's broad geographic reach and operational capacity. During this period, the number of countries in which YYD operates in the first quarter of the year rose to 30, while the total number of countries served since the organisation's founding increased from 83 to 89.
The strong targeting approach — prioritising female-headed households, families with infants or elderly members, orphans, refugees, and those entirely without income — ensured that assistance reached those in the most acute need. Overall, the 2026 Ramadan Operations demonstrated YYD's sustained ability to deliver impactful humanitarian assistance under challenging conditions across multiple geographies.
Conclusion
The 2026 Ramadan Operations successfully contributed to meeting the basic needs of vulnerable individuals and families, bringing the blessings of Ramadan to a wider community and strengthening the bonds of social solidarity.
Doctors Worldwide Türkiye (YYD) once again demonstrated its commitment to transparent, needs-based humanitarian action — ensuring that food packages, iftar meals, and zakat al-fitr and fidya payments reached those in the most acute need.
YYD remains committed to delivering donors' trust responsibly and transparently, ensuring that aid reaches those who need it most. Continued support is essential to sustaining and expanding these efforts, as millions of people around the world continue to face poverty, conflict, and displacement.
