Eight Earthquake-Resilient Schools Completed!

By Rachel Deery | Grant Writer

Hello Donors!

All Hands Volunteers is incredibly proud to say that we have completed eight schools since 2015 in the Nuwakot and Sindhupolchok districts of Nepal. That's 58 classrooms, 30 toilet and hygiene stations, and multiple water filtration systems designed to provide safe, clean and comfortable spaces for children to learn.

As monsoon season is currently in full force our teams on the ground are taking time off to prepare for the next phase of school builds in Nuwakot and Sindhupolchok. We currently are finalizing plans for three more schools that will be built in remote regions affected by the devastating earthquakes in 2015.

The impact All Hands has had in the communities where we have worked for months on end is immeasurable and can be best described by the beneficiaries of these amazing schools.

Susita, Class 10: This young student told us that All Hands had an impact on her well beyond just building her a school. She especially enjoyed seeing the female volunteers working every day in her community, something that is not common there. She recalled being incredibly scared being in the Temporary Learning Centers after the earthquake, and this new school makes her feel safe and happy to learn again.

Our work will begin again towards the middle of September once monsoon season ends and it is safe to return to work. Until then, please continue to stay updated with our other programs throughout the world. Your support is greatly appreciated!

Thank You!
