In March 2026, The Mawoudit Foundation, in collaboration with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), conducted a gender-sensitive flood preparedness training workshop in Juba, South Sudan. The workshop aimed to raise awareness and strengthen the capacity of local communities to prepare for and respond to flooding while ensuring that the specific needs of women, children, older persons, and people with disabilities are considered during emergency response.
As forecasts indicate that flooding is likely to intensify in September 2026, thousands of vulnerable families are expected to be affected. To respond effectively, we are appealing to our generous donors for timely support. Early funding will enable us to pre-position emergency supplies, conduct community awareness campaigns, and provide lifesaving assistance to families most at risk before and during the floods.
Your continued partnership will help us protect lives, reduce the impact of flooding, and support vulnerable communities across South Sudan. We sincerely thank our donors for their ongoing commitment and generosity.
