The recent earthquake that hit south of Turkey and north of Syria on February 6, 2023, has left a devastating impact on the afflicted areas in northern Syria. Among the affected, 11 out of the 20 bakeries have suffered severe damage, leaving hundreds of families without access to daily bread. These bakeries are the primary source of bread for the entire region, and their closure has resulted in a significant shortage of food.
To address this urgent need, we are launching a fundraising campaign to rehabilitate the damaged bakeries. Out of the 11 affected bakeries, five require full rehabilitation, while the remaining six need immediate maintenance to become fully operational. We are committed to ensuring that these bakeries are repaired and running smoothly after the earthquake, to provide food security to those in need.
