Promote the economic and social development of the province with the creation and implementation of a Network of Entrepreneurs with an Inclusive Approach, focused on benefiting families from the rural parishes of Otavalo, Cotacachi, Antonio Ante, Urcuqui, Ibarra and Pimampiro, which articulate producers and consumers, towards a production and commercialization of the emblematic products of the rurality of the province in new markets, generating more economical incomes to participants families.
Ecuador has more than 40% of the rural population in a state of poverty due to low income, making this segment more vulnerable in terms of access to opportunities, goods and services. In the province of Imbabura there are 28% of the population in poverty due to low income. The multidimensional poverty index in most rural parishes exceeds 70% of the population. Therefore, it is necessary for social, community and productive organizations to promote income generation initiatives.
This project creates new spaces for training and technical support in the fields of production in agroecology, crafts and tourism, as the main productive activities of the rural population of the province, to generate and enhance quality processes and opening new markets, so that the support for the formation and strengthening of productive associations allows the promotion and commercialization of goods and services in an articulated net of social organizations towards a long term procces.
36 productive associations linked to the "Redemprende Imbabura" network will be created and strengthened, which will have as an organization a permanent process of quality assurance and generation of new marketing channels for their goods and services nationally and internationally, impacting on the generation of new income and the improvement of the quality of life of more than 2000 families in the rural areas of the province in their six cantons.
