Happy New Year supporters!
It was a slow quarter last quarter for fundraising, with only a slow trickle of donations coming through…. However, it is a new year, and we hope that this time creates a new pool of supporters for this project.
We are delighted to announce that we will continue to work with OMASI in 2023, thanks to funding from Innovate UK. We will be working on new solar water systems within the area, to provide access to water for an affordable price and using clean energy. However, the project funding does not cover the cost of the new water system in Terat, and we need extra financial assistance in order to rejuvenate this vital facility for the community.
Water continues to be a huge issue across Northern Tanzania, due to unpredictable rainfall and drought being commonplace in the area. This year has been especially dry, and we are concerned for the wellbeing of the people in the community and their livestock, which often form the epicentre of community members’ livelihoods.
We still have a long way to go to reach our fundraising target, so please share this project within your personal network and on your social media channel to rally more support and donations for this vitally important project.
Your support will help us bring this facility back to life, in a time when is it is needed the most by the community.
All the best,
Iona
