We are thankful to all the donors for providing continuous support to needy children with disabilities in Nepal. Till date, you gave us more than $40,751.69 with 386 donations. We hope for your support during the days to come. Even in the COVID-19 worse situation, we are successful in providing the necessary support to the children. This is because of your support. GREAT THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN!
On Saturday, February 16, Nepal Youth Foundation, one of the Patan CBR cooperation partner, arranged a refreshment picnic program for school-level students and children with disabilities at Chobar, Kritipur. Our Patan CBR staff, parents, and children with disabilities were cordially welcomed to attend. There are 9 children with disabilities, along with their parents and Patan CBR staff. We gathered in Jawalakhel at precisely 8am in the morning. Others were on the verge of joining us in that program. We all boarded the Patan CBR bus and headed to our designated spot. As we arrived at our destination, we noticed that it was really lovely and that other people had come to have a picnic with their loved ones.
We all ate our breakfast when it was ready when we arrived. Everyone adored it since it was so tasty. Following breakfast, we take a look around. Beautiful views of Kathmandu, surrounded by hills and mountains, can be seen from there. The weather was a touch chilly that day. We were taking in the splendor of nature. Both our parents and our children with disabilities adore that location. We explore the area, then sit and listen to music for a bit. Our children with disabilities needs enjoy dancing, and they dance with their friends. Our children with disabilities were worn out after dancing for a while and sat for a while. After that, we enjoyed some delicious munchies. Everyone waited in line to eat snacks.
The organizers of our program gave out slime to assist people with physical disabilities in exercising. After that, they had an entertaining session for everyone who has participated. They planned a few entertaining games. For those with physical disabilities, they have Chess and Ludo games that they may sit and play. In the meantime, there is a game called "Blown Balloon Blast," in which players must tie a balloon to their leg, keep it there until the very end, and then use their leg to blow another balloon. They are unable to utilize their hand.Everyone had a great time playing the game. We then played a game called blind folding. The blind folding game was going to destroy the pot hanged. The players must try to break the pot with a long stick while blindfolded. This game is enjoyable as well. After a great time, our lunch was ready as well. Our lunch was shared by all. We finally had some refreshments for everyone who had come, including the parents of children with disabilities and the Youth Foundation Nepal, the organization that organized the event. Spending time with our parents and children with disabilities was a wonderful experience. They both need a vacation from work so they may enjoy themselves.
