Here is an update on one of our recent rescues - and an online event to which YOU are invited.
Gina is a Indian Ringneck parakeet. She came to Mickaboo after being found by a kind soul in a box, abandoned on the streets of San Francisco. She was clearly hurting, with a fractured leg that had not been treated, an injured beak, a bald spot on her head that may have been caused by another bird picking on her, and a really bad wing clip.
We were worried her leg might need to be amputated; now, we are hopeful the leg will heal enough that she may continue to use it for balance. Gina has obviously been through a lot, and in spite of it all has a sweet demeanor.
Mickaboo is able to help birds like Gina with financial support from people like YOU, and the physical capacity to house incoming birds.
Adoptions of our birds is one way by which we maintain physical capacity. To that end, you are cordially invited to attend our upcoming Virtual Adoption Fair, on August 15 at 1 pm PT. If you are curious about cockatiels, conures, lovebirds, or Amazons - or simply enjoy learning about pet birds, come watch and have your questions answered live by our volunteers! Register here or watch our livestream on our Facebook page. Spread the word to your bird-loving friends!
Thank you for your generosity now and in the future.
