The team decided to conduct experiments in the tree nursery, to find out the tree species that are suitable for habitat restoration, as well as the best planting strategies. The habitat restoration experiment was conducted under the guidance of Professor Li Xiankun’s team from the Guangxi Institute of Botany, with on-site technical support provided by Assistant Researcher Li Dongxing.
In December 2025, the project team, in collaboration with Assistant Researcher Li Dongxing from the Guangxi Institute of Botany, visited the Longjiao to Longkou forest plots. The main challenge in this area is the historical predominance of a single tree species and the slow growth of newly planted trees. Consequently, enhancing vegetation diversity should be a priority in subsequent restoration efforts.
