Dear Donors,
We sincerely thank the donors who have already supported the Reunite 500 Street Boys with Their Families project. Your generosity is helping us take the first steps toward reaching vulnerable boys living on the streets. We also kindly appeal for additional support so we can expand this effort and reach more children in need.
Thousands of boys continue to live on the streets in major cities. Many left home due to abuse, hunger, violence, or neglect. Street life exposes them to crime, exploitation, drug use, and further harm. Without intervention, some remain on the streets for years with little chance of returning to stable family life.
As reported previously, our team is still visiting areas where street children are known to gather. We are meeting these boys, listening to their stories, and understanding the circumstances that led them to the streets. These interactions are helping us assess family situations and determine safe reunification pathways.
This project will provide temporary shelter, meals, counseling, and safe transport for boys who are ready to reconnect with their families. Social workers will conduct family tracing and hold discussions with parents or guardians to assess readiness for reunification. Follow-up visits will help monitor progress and reduce the risk of repeat abandonment.
Reuniting boys with safe family environments can reduce exposure to violence and crime. Returning to stable homes increases the chance of re-enrollment in school and restoration of family bonds. Each successful reunification removes a child from daily street dangers.
In our next reports, we will share videos and photographs of some of the boys we are able to reach. While we appreciate the support already received, more funding is needed to continue tracing, counseling, and safe transport services.
We kindly invite additional donors to join this effort and help more boys leave the streets behind.
Sincerely,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
