Romania's first shelter where animals roam free aims to connect people and animals, fostering mutual support and companionship. Why choose PawzUp? Because we believe in a better world for animals, this project is crucial for animals and people in Romania, creating a legacy for future generations. The estimated cost of the PawzUp project is over $5 million, with priority given to building the dog shelter.
Animals in disadvantaged communities experience suffering. Lack of access to services and abandonment leave many without support. Romania is unsafe for animals, even with charities like ROLDA. We have recently been notified by the authorities that a new express road will be constructed outside Galati, resulting in the demolition of four out of our twelve dog paddocks.
Although the projected cost for the entire project amounts to $5 million, our initial focus will be on the most crucial aspect: the dog shelter. Moving the dogs to secure areas is crucial. Our goal is to never leave a dog without a home again. We are committed to not abandoning any of our dogs. This is an opportunity to modernise the shelter from kennel-style to cage-free.
PawzUp will provide services to a total of 300,000 small and farm animals, with an annual assistance rate of approximately 2,000 animals. Furthermore, an opportunity will be provided for one million individuals of diverse age groups, encompassing both seniors and children, to engage in a distinctive, genuine, and fulfilling interaction with animals requiring human companionship.
