ROLDA PawzUp: The Unwritten Story
In February 2023 we celebrate 17 years of tumultous existence as charity in Romania.
For most of these years, I wrote myself the dog stories and put passion in every word: rescue, bad or happy ending.
Even if you read them all, that would be a tiny fraction because so many little special moments of day by day rescue get lost quickly.
I believe the ambition, the passion for dogs and the dream of giving these special animals the best kept my andurance going.
I dream of them living better, in heated kennels, spoiled which contrast with the reality and that's the best fuel when things don't go as expected.
In a country like Romania, many things go not as expected.
With so many dog stories for me to write, I realized that ultimately, I dream that one day, someone else to tell the unwritten ROLDA story and that to be a succesful one.
From where I come, dreaming is a trick to escape reality. Everyone is free to dream and dreams are free, but really special ones become reality and that comes with a price and lot of work.
Dogs dream too and they escape the reality. I watch them sleeping, with "paws up" in the air, moving them like running and I felt guilty for not offering them more running spaces to help them feel free. But at least I (and now you) know from where PawzUp name comes from. We all need to hold on something and keep dreaming because that makes our life magical.
I will feel truly completed if whomever will write ROLDA story will highlight the PawzUp success transforming conventional shelter into a center where dogs not feel trapped, prisoners but feel home. If PawzUp dogs residents smile, it is the success that worth every moment of my life spent to make it happen.
Have you seen a dog smiling? There is no way you can fake that. If they do smile, they do it from their heart and with all their heart.
PawzUp dog shelter has a simple purpose: to make dogs smile.
And that's the unwritten story that I challenge myself to create.
