Dear Supporters and Friends,
We are pleased to share an update on the Safe Birth Kits for 80 TBAs to End Maternal Deaths project. Donations have started coming in, and we are grateful for the encouragement this brings. So far, we have identified one of the four rural and underserved villages where the first phase will take place.
With the funds received, we have been able to purchase some of the birth kits. However, the amount raised cannot yet cover the costs of logistics and staff support required for a full rollout. This means that while we have the first set of materials ready, we are still waiting to gather enough resources before launching the training and distribution activities with the Traditional Birth Attendants (TBAs).
The need remains urgent. Many mothers in these villages face high risks during childbirth due to a lack of sterile equipment and basic supplies. By placing safe birth kits directly in the hands of TBAs, we can reduce infections and save lives. Our hope is that with continued donations, we will be able to start the first phase in our next report update.
Thank you for believing in this project and standing with us as we work to reach more women with safe childbirth resources.
With gratitude,
Joy Ojochogwu Etubi
