Adoption and Rescue in times of Quarantine

By Gudrun Olaya | Project Leader

Dear donor and friend!! Of course you want to know, how we continue with our mission during quarantine. Honestly, this undoubtedly big challenge for us humans, has turned into a blessing for some of our dogs. Since we have to do a lot of computer work in order to publish the dogs and keep on looking for the ideal forever home, a sponsor had the brilliant idea to publish some video ads on Facebook. We started in April, and in May four Vivatma dogs were given to their new families: Malí, Sasha, Noëlito y Mo (view 1and2). We spent hours with video-calls, by interviewing the families and giving them the opportunity to get “in touch” with their future furry kids. The day before sending them home, we programed a soap-and-cold water-therapy with a special grooming service (view 3), and then finally, came that wonderful bittersweet day they left the shelter. Only some days later we rescued a couple of Brie’s Shepard from a garage. Jolie and Loup, mother and son, were in a really bad shape and we were determined to find a family willing to adopt them both. We neutered and chipped them and a professional groomer spent five hours to lower their rasta look. And again, luck was awaiting, and after two weeks at a foster´s, Jolie and Loup could move into their new forever home (view 4). Some days ago we rescued a senior Retriever from the street (view 5), and the story goes on and on….
