When we launched this project, our hope was simple: to raise enough funds to purchase a reliable vehicle that could safely transport children to activities and therapy sessions, and rescued animals to veterinary care when they need it most.
We are not there yet, for now, we continue to rely on our old car, which has faithfully carried us through another busy season. It has transported children to activities at Dumbrava, supported community events, and made several important veterinary trips for rescued animals.
One of the passengers who depended on it most recently was Thor. Since arriving at Dumbrava, Thor has faced a long list of health challenges, including a severe leg wound that required multiple visits to a veterinary clinic in Cluj. Thanks to those trips, his condition has improved significantly, and he is once again enjoying the attention of the children who visit us.
The same vehicle has also helped us prepare and organize activities for local children. At the end of May, we hosted our Children’s Day celebration. We expected around 50 children. nearly 100 came. Seeing so many children spend a day outdoors, playing, learning, and simply being children reminded us why transportation matters. In rural communities, opportunities often depend on whether someone can get there safely.
Our old car is still doing its job, and we are grateful for every kilometer it manages to cover. But each maintenance bill is a reminder of why this project exists. Every repair means resources that could otherwise support children, animals, and community programs.
We have not reached our fundraising goal yet, but every donation brings us closer. Until then, we will keep making the trips that need to be made, helping children reach opportunities and animals reach care.
Thank you for being part of that journey.
