Our new cookstove is ready!

By Eleonora Dori | Project contributor

Dear donor,

We would like to thank you again for supporting our projects. We are pleased to report that thanks to all your generous support the new cookstove is ready.

Over the past weeks the focus of the local team has been to produce the new and cheaper cookstove and prepare a major roll out of our new scheme to promote their distribution which we are planning for the coming months.

As the previous model bears heat, and it's easy to maintain, its energy source is always biomass, but the new model is much more marketable. It is produced from the local people with materials of Mozambican origin, therefore it reduces the need for imported material. This helps a lot in the production time (not having to import the materials already processed from abroad, the transport / customs clearance / payment of customs duties) and in the cost of production.

The design will not change, as you can see from the photos, but the advantages will be considerable. The production costs reduced by 40% will make the new cookstove accessible to many more families, therefore much less use of coal and use of a clean cooking system for an increasing number of people.

We are getting closer and closer to our goal, and with your help we hope to achieve the goal in the shortest possible time.

To conclude, we would like to inform you about a new project of our association, given the serious health situation we are experiencing today. With the new project we would like to provide support to Mozambican families in order to help them and do everything possible to avoid the spread of covid-19. Check out our project on

Hope you will join us in supporting both projects. Every dollar counts

Thanks for your help
