Meet Doe and Darling - two deeply bonded elephant "soul sisters" in their 50s and 60s, who've spent a lifetime working in the forests of Cambodia. For the past few years, they've been resting and healing at the Elephant Valley Project sanctuary. But now, their future is under threat. Unless we can raise $70,000 by early 2026, they risk being taken away and sold into exploitative tourism or urban captivity. Help us secure their permanent freedom - give them the lifelong home they deserve!
What We Need: TOTAL $70,000. We've already secured the first $10,000, but now we urgently need $60,000 more to purchase both elephants. Timeline: $10,000 deposit (secured & paid) - $35,000 for Doe needed by Nov-Dec 2025 (now complete) - $25,000 for Darling needed by Feb-Mar 2026. We are fundraising online here & offline as well, so our total here reflects what we have left to raise.
What We'll Do: Finalize the rescue contracts and purchase the elephants permanently from their village owners, Keep them together in their forest sanctuary home, Provide expert care: food, vet visits, daily monitoring, and enrichment, Ensure they're never used in riding camps, shows, or close contact tourism again.
Who Benefits: Doe, a resilient and sensitive elephant - Darling, a wise, calm matriarch fiercely protective of her best friend - The local community, who gain long-term eco-tourism and ethical livelihoods - You, our supporters, by being part of a lasting, meaningful rescue. Long-Term Impact: By saving Doe and Darling we stop two elderly elephants from being sent into tourist camps, we show other owners they can retire their elephants and we strengthen our mission to end elephant exploitation.
