The year is moving forward with a lot of positive projects in the works. Our work with native Amazon Melipona stingless bees is also growing. The population of insect pollinators within the Amazon is dropping rapidly due to deforestation. Our program where people can adopt a beehive is expanding and will help to offset the destruction to the environment. This is a project that is primarily aimed to help women by improving their income by their having more beehives where they can sell the byproducts. The project is also vitally important in helping to protect the rainforest. Farmers are putting the beehives in plantations of their coffee to help pollinate the trees and increase coffee production and income for the family but those same bees are also pollinating the surrounding rainforest. This is a wonderful and simple project helping the people and the environment. Thank you for your support to make this project possible.
