At the end of June 2025, LifeTime Projects hosted a powerful community event in Strasbourg: a solidarity football tournament with a dual mission, to raise funds for the construction of an orphanage in Cameroon and helping a group of teenagers from the Esplanade neighborhood take part in their first international solidarity mission to Cameroon in 2026.
These young people were initially part of our school dropout prevention programs until 2023 and have since been deeply engaged in our intercultural education initiatives. Over two years, they participated in a digital exchange project with young Cameroonians, building connections, exploring shared values, and working on topics like education, identity, and community engagement. Now, they're preparing to meet their peers in person and contribute to the construction of an orphanage on-site.
Over 400 people gathered for a full day of activities, connection, and engagement. The tournament welcomed mixed teams from U9 and U11 age groups, and a special girls’ match for ages 15–18, with teams traveling from both the Alsace region and Paris to take part.
Alongside the sporting events, attendees engaged with awareness booths on topics such as:
This was more than just a fundraiser, it was a vibrant moment of cohesion for the neighborhood. As our director Laetitia Craig noted:
“It was a day of unity, where different actors came together to bring solidarity to life and promote access to sports for all.”
Thanks to this event:
One of our volunteers, Youssef Akkori, who joined us via his company’s CSR platform Komeet, shared this reflection:
“Taking part in this tournament meant contributing to something with meaning and impact. It aligned with the core values of LifeTime Projects: education, inclusion, self-esteem. I’m very grateful and eager to engage again.”
We are deeply thankful to all our partners, including the US Vauban football club for hosting the event, the City of Strasbourg and its deputy for sports Owusu Tufuor, the Bas-Rhin Prefecture, Imagin’act, IMP, and our incredible team of volunteers.
This is just the beginning. Our youth group is already working on their next steps toward Cameroon, and the orphanage project continues to move forward thanks to your support.
Stay tuned for updates—and thank you for standing with us!
