School Support for 130 orphan children-Addis Ababa

Background
Yengat Birhan Charity Organization is an indigenous and non – profit organization established to assist disadvantaged family especially marginalized women and child. It has been operated since February, 2016 and re registered and accorded legal personality registry number 3645 as a charitable organization in accordance with the civil society’s organization proclamation No.1113/2019. Our mission is providing holistic care and support to orphan and highly vulnerable children together with their mothers in order to become productive and responsible members of the society.
The organization started its work by approaching friends and individuals who share the vision of the founder and able to get financial, material and technical support and continued operating in collaboration with government officials.
Currently the organization support 68 girls and 67 boys with a total of 135 school children in Yeka Sub City, woreda 08. The children selected from very poor households most of them from single mom’s. The school support include school materials and tutorial class with snack.
The ongoing activities in this quarter more focused by organizing tutorial classes to the students to get assistance on English, Mathematics, reproductive health and ethics. We could also providing school bags for our 135 students for this quarter. Our tutorial class teachers are par timers and volunteers and they tried to provide for the students issues which did not covered by the regular class.
The children dropped out rat reached almost zero and the academic performance becoming better when we camper it with their previous performance because of the support we provide. The change we observes on them is not only on the academic performance but also on social interaction and public speaking too.
It is all done by the contribution of you, we really apparition your support so fare in changing the life of needy children’s, without your contribution we couldn’t do the job.

Background Yengat Birhan Charity Organization a none profit organization established by a volunteer health professional that represent a family committed to assist disadvantaged family especially marginalized women and child. The family has a long story of supporting disadvantaged children and their family for over four yearsusing their own financial and material resources plus rich experience in humanitarian service. Since February, 2016, the organization approaches friends and individuals who share the vision of the founder and able to get financial, material and technical support and continued operating in collaboration with Yeka Sub city Woreda 08 and the surrounding community; in the area of women economic empowerment, improve school enrolment of disadvantaged children and improve the health seeking behavior of disadvantaged family. Vision: Yengat Birhan Charity Organization aspires to see society enjoying healthy life. Mission: Yengat Birhan Charity Organization working towards ensuring healthy family and community through supporting and encouraging peoples to know and release their potential in the integrated programs. Objective: Assisted mothers to engage in income generating activities and to earn income to cover cost of their family’s basic needs Goal The overall goal is to contribute for changing the living standard of marginalized and disadvantageous family especially headed by women with children and child headed family (Orphan) through building their capacity and self-esteem in a continuous improvement of life. Currently the organization works in Yeka Sub City, woreda 08, with 70 very poor households on order to help to start and improve their own income generating activities. Activities performed in this quarter are: The women able to discussing weekly for one hour on their problem and its solutions Perform weekly saving that help to engage in income generating activities by using it as startup capital, so as to improve the family income and life. The groups improved their businesses by taking loans and others start new small scale businesses The organization provided training on how to start small business and improving existing business.
