School Support for 130 orphan children-Addis Ababa

Dear all respected partner, We are grateful for making us to change others life. Without your support we couldn’t get an opportunity of changing women’s life This is quarterly project report on raising income for 70 single mom’s living in slum. Background Yengat Birhan Charity Organization a none profit organization established by a volunteer health professional that represent a family committed to assist disadvantaged family especially marginalized women and child. The family has a long story of supporting disadvantaged children and their family for over four yearsusing their own financial and material resources plus rich experience in humanitarian service. Since February, 2016, the organization approaches friends and individuals who share the vision of the founder and able to get financial, material and technical support and continued operating in collaboration with Yeka Sub city Woreda 08 and the surrounding community; in the area of women economic empowerment, improve school enrolment of disadvantaged children and improve the health seeking behavior of disadvantaged family. Vision: Yengat Birhan Charity Organization aspires to see society enjoying healthy life. Mission: Yengat Birhan Charity Organization working towards ensuring healthy family and community through supporting and encouraging peoples to know and release their potential in the integrated programs. Objective: Assisted mothers to engage in income generating activities and to earn income to cover cost of their family’s basic needs Goal The overall goal is to contribute for changing the living standard of marginalized and disadvantageous family especially headed by women with children and child headed family (Orphan) through building their capacity and self-esteem in a continuous improvement of life. Currently the organization works in Yeka Sub City, woreda 08, with 70 very poor households on order to help to start and improve their own income generating activities. Activities performed in this quarter are: The women able to discussing weekly for one hour on their problem and its solutions Perform weekly saving that help to engage in income generating activities by using it as startup capital, so as to improve the family income and life. The groups improved their businesses by taking loans and others start new small scale businesses The organization provided training on how to start small business and improving existing business.

Dear our partners, Sorry for being late of delivering the report,  

We want to say thank you for your support that made us to change needy school children’s life,  who found in Addis Ababa.

As we reported it before, since we provided school materials including school bag and uniform at the beginning of September 2019, children are able to attend their education regularly.

It is our quarterly report regarding what we did related to our needy school children. In this quarter we were forced to take additional needy students from the school called “Birhu Tesfa Elementary and KG school” because the student couldn’t attend their regular classes because of hunger.  Birhu Tesfa school is one of the schoolwhich found at Yeka Sub City wereda 08 in Addis Ababa. It is a school in which we are providing the tutorial classes by the permission of school officials.

• The list of 70 additional needy school children who enrolled in public school called Birhu Tesfa,  collected through critical discussion of the teachers of the school, family of the students and Yengat Birhan staffs to enroll in our project to get support.
• By now we have a total of 150 needy school children
• The project is giving more chance for female students to enrolled
• Till now, June 2019,  we are able to provide tutor classes for our school children once per week which focused on English and Mathematics
• The tutorial classes providing snacks in between classes which contain a cup of milk and 100 gram bread.
• The tutorial class also include personal counseling in case of the need arises
• In this quarter we tried to get some assistance from one of international school and they provided us with 40 shoe for our children
• We are looking forward to get school uniform and other school materials from others for the next  school year.
