Sebastian is the oldest of 3 siblings and, like his father—who has dedicated his entire life to being a yacht captain—he feels a strong connection with the sea.
"I love and respect the sea, but above all, I respect it. When I was 4 years old, I used to sneak from home and go into the saltwater with my friends. Since we were very young, we were forbidden to swim alone, so when we arrived at the port to swim, we would take off our clothes and after, we would wait for the breeze to dry us and then we would dress again as if nothing had happened.
One day I had a bad time because we went too deep in the sea and I was drowning. My friends, threw sticks and anything they could find to help me, until I finally grabbed a long pole and they dragged me to the shore. After that, I was sent to live in Cartagena, where I tried to connect with the sea, but it wasn't the same.
Not too long ago, I came back to Barú. Now I can swim without difficulty and that makes me happy.
Once back, I found the opportunity to study the technical career in Administrative Assistance, which I like a lot because in subjects such as Statistics, Accounting, Information & Telecommunications, and Excel, I can practice what I like the most: mathematics. For example, in Excel, I have learned to create spreadsheets, in which by applying a formula I can establish the final price of a product.
In the future, I see myself working in the accounting or technology area of a company, doing my best and practicing everything I have learned."
