For many children in South Africa, school is more than a place to learn - it is their best chance to escape poverty. Yet countless children are unable to attend because their families cannot afford the essentials: uniforms, books, and school supplies. Without this support, children miss out on education, go hungry, and lose hope for a brighter future.
In South Africa, millions of children are unable to attend school because their families cannot afford the basics - uniforms, books, and school supplies. Caregivers, often grandmothers or siblings, struggle to provide even food, leaving education out of reach. Without support, these children miss out on learning, go hungry, and face a future trapped in poverty.
This project will provide 50 vulnerable children in South Africa with everything they need to attend school for a year. With a monthly cost of $25 ($250 per school year) per child, each one will receive access to an education, along with daily meals to support their education and vital healthcare. These essentials remove the barriers that keep children at home, enabling them to learn, grow, and thrive in the classroom.
Education is one of the most powerful tools for lifting families out of poverty. A child who completes school has a much higher chance of finding stable work, earning an income, and supporting their family. Over time, this reduces reliance on aid and creates generational change. They will also receive nutritious meals (often their only consistent source of food), health check-ups, health education, and so much more!
