As we are kicking off the new year, I want to share an update on this ongoing project to help 50 vulnerable children access education in South Africa. While we are still at the early stages, your generosity is already helping lay the foundation for meaningful, long-term impact.
Education remains one of the most powerful tools for breaking cycles of poverty. For the children supported through this project, attending school means more than learning; it means safety, nourishment, stability, and hope for the future.
Progress So Far
Thanks to the support received to date, we are continuing to strengthen the systems that enable children to attend and remain in school. Your contributions are helping us move closer to ensuring children have what they need to learn and thrive, including:
Education support
Funds raised through this project contribute toward school fees, uniforms, supplies, and essential wraparound support—reducing barriers that often prevent children from attending school consistently.
Connection to holistic care
Education at Starfish is never standalone. Children supported through our programs also benefit from access to nutrition, healthcare, and social support that help them remain healthy and engaged in learning.
While we have not yet reached our goal of sending all 50 children to school, every contribution moves us closer and allows us to plan carefully and respond responsibly as additional support comes in.
Looking Ahead to 2026
As we move into 2026, this project remains a priority. With continued support, we aim to:
Enroll more children in school and keep them learning throughout the year
Provide uniforms, supplies, and fee assistance to reduce dropout risk
Ensure children receive the health and nutrition support they need to succeed in the classroom
Your partnership makes steady progress possible. Thank you for believing in the power of education and for standing with children who are working toward a brighter future, one child at a time.
