This project will empower and strengthen indigenous and Afro-Mexican girls and women of the municipality of Santiago Pinotepa Nacional, Oaxaca., In human rights, food security, health, self-economy and care of the environment, with the implementation of family gardens and raising birds backyard.
The passage of the COVID-19 pandemic came to depress the economy in homes, this highlights and adds the problems of the communities. The fact that several economic sectors are unemployed has made products of the basic basket increase their purchase price and reduce the family economy, proposing in this project an alternative to generate economic income and improve the diet and the health of the girls and children from Indigenous and Afro-Mexican communities.
The necessary tools will be provided for the construction of family gardens and raising of laying hens (double purpose: Meat and Egg), receiving training in food and nutrition to improve the health of families, recovering the ancestral knowledge of planting, harvesting and raising, to have quality food, thus exercising their right to a better quality of life through sovereign food.
Empowered indigenous and Afro-Mexican families, strengthened in the knowledge of human rights, a healthy environment and a healthy diet through the creation of family gardens and the raising of backyard birds, exercising their right to food sovereignty and increasing their economy. These actions will also make it possible to increase its economy through the sale of eggs, meat and products from the orchards.
