2017 Year-End Campaign
By Enouce Ndeche | Project Principle
When you were a teenager, chances are you needed some guidance to reach your goals. In life, as in soccer, you need assists to score goals. I know I did, and I’m grateful for those who helped me. Every day in developing countries on soccer pitches, in school yards, in classrooms, and on dusty fields, Vijana Amani Pamoja are making an assist for young people—but they can’t do it without your support. Young people in sub-Saharan Africa face the most acute combination of health and economic issues of any population in the world, including HIV, unwanted pregnancy, and gender-based violence. With your help, they can overcome these obstacles and reach their goals. By making an assist, you can empower youth to shine and achieve their goals. On Tuesday, GlobalGiving launched GlobalGiving’s 2017 YEAR-END CAMPAIGN to celebrate our 2017 fundraising campaigns which you have been a great part of it.GlobalGiving is now offering twenty $100 prizes to the first 10 projects to reach 50 donors and the first 10 projects to reach $10,000 by the end of 2017.We are humbly reaching out to YOU to help us be part of the first 10 projects for this campaign.
Thanks,

Football With a Different Mission
By Enouce Ndeche | Project Principle
VAP fc plays in the ongoing Nairobi county league of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF). Composed of local former lifeskills graduates, most of its players are committed lifeskills coaches who give back to the community, visiting schools and community centres implementing Show corruption RedCard programs to other youth.Led by Ken who wears two hats, serving as VAP’s master coach (life skills trainer) and club’s head coach, the team is looking forward to be promoted next season. “I feel good to be a footballer and to use the same football to empower my community.” Said 17 year old defender Jared
Coaches Debrief
Usually after conducting lifeskills sessions, coaches do assemble for a debrief to discuss challenges and successes as they gather post questionnaires from their fellow coaches collected from participants. The post questionnaires are conducted after the program to gauge participants’ gained knowledge, attitudes and communication about corruption and integrity issues. To gather further qualitative data, focus group discussions and In-depth interviews are conducted in some of the interventions and information entered into the scoreboard where they get analyzed on a monthly basis.

Football for Peace
VAP coaches, volunteers and staff gathered at Buru Buru grounds to mark the International Day of Peace which is globally celebrated on 21st September. The group played a football match under the banner ‘Am Playing for Peace’ and later on had a walk from the pitch to the streets carrying peace messages to the Kenyan population to quench the simmering tensions. The International Day of Peace ("Peace Day") is observed around the world each year on 21 September. Established in 1981 by unanimous United Nations resolution, Peace Day provides a globally shared date for all humanity to commit to Peace above all differences and to contribute to building a Culture of Peace.
