Power cuts in rural clinics and hospitals affect nurses' ability to use phones, lamps, and medical devices. Patients often cannot charge phones to reach family during emergencies. This project will set up solar charging stations in 10 clinics, helping staff and patients charge phones, small lights, and vital tools. Funds will cover solar panels, batteries, setup, and basic user training.
Many clinics and hospitals face regular power cuts. Nurses often struggle to charge phones or lamps used for night care. Patients and families cannot keep in touch or call for transport. Lack of power also affects the use of small medical tools. Without charging points, staff feel stuck, and basic care tasks become harder.
The project will install solar-powered charging stations in 10 clinics. Each unit will have panels, a battery, and outlets for phones and lamps. Nurses can use them to power work tools and personal phones. Patients can also use the stations to stay connected. Staff will be shown how to use and care for the equipment for long-term use.
Reliable access to solar charging will help nurses work at night and stay reachable. It will allow patients to call for help or contact families. Clinics will spend less on fuel or unreliable power. In subsequent time, these stations will make health work safer and more connected in places where regular power is not available.
