Dear donors,
In Nigeria, up to 40% of crops are lost after harvest due to spoilage, poor storage, and lack of preservation tools. Smallholder farmers struggle with hunger and reduced income because fruits, vegetables, and grains rot before reaching markets. This project will provide 500 farmers with solar food dehydrators, enabling them to dry crops safely, extend shelf life, and reduce waste.
Farmers will receive training on proper drying, packaging, and storage techniques. Initial donations have been received, but more support is needed to cover equipment costs, training, and outreach.
With your contribution, farmers can preserve more of their harvest, improve nutrition for families, increase income, and create small businesses around dried produce, strengthening rural food security and local economies.
