Because of the health emergency by COVID-19, the Colombian government established confinement measures in homes. For the families that are linked to the informal economy, this means that they do not have the possibility to work. The PT Foundation cover about 80 families; people who are dependent on the informal work sectors. If you would like to support them, you can show solidarity by providing food and medicine. This will give relief to these families, taking care of them with dignified life.
97% of the families linked to the PT Foundation depend on the informal productive activities. They are street vendors, recyclers or workers in the market place. For these families, it is necessary to guarantee them food, medicine and safe housing, in order to be able to continue with the preventive isolation. If these families stay home and safe, the number of possible infections can hopefully be reduced and the Colombian Health System can better manage its physical and human resources
Providing food, medicines and/or supporting in the monthly rent allows these families to comply with the preventive measures of home confinement, preventing the spread of the corona virus and maximizing the health management of public and private institutions. Staying home and having basic needs reduces the level of exposure of the adults of these families, who without your support would have to choose between the need for food and the danger of the virus.
With your contribution and solidarity, you help 80 families in vulnerable situations, giving them the opportunity to live this crisis in a dignified way. This is done by providing them food, medicine and a place to live in these difficult times. Your support will allow them to remain in home isolation, preventing an increase in the number of infected people and the loss of life due to COVID-19.
