In our rural Romanian community, limited access to affordable sterilization leads to frequent unwanted litters of puppies and kittens. Many are later abandoned, neglected, or left to suffer. This project funds spay and neuter procedures for dogs and cats, preventing future suffering at its source. With your support, we can reduce abandonment and create lasting change.
Animal abandonment in our area is driven by: Limited access to veterinarians Lack of affordable sterilization Low awareness about responsible ownership New litters are born regularly, and shelters cannot keep up. Rescue alone cannot solve the problem. Without prevention, the cycle continues.
This project funds: Spay and neuter procedures Basic veterinary checks during surgery Transportation support when needed Community awareness about responsible pet care Cost per sterilization: Female dog - 50 Male dog - 40 Female cat - 40 Male cat - 30 With 1,500 per month, we can fund approximately 30-45 sterilizations, depending on the mix of animals. Each procedure prevents multiple future births and reduces long-term abandonment.
With sustained sterilization campaigns: Fewer animals are abandoned Shelter overcrowding decreases Community awareness improves Long-term animal suffering declines Each sterilization today prevents suffering tomorrow.
