Just last month we had to pay almost double what our budget is, but we cannot say no to free spaying, because the alternative is a lot worse. For every cat or dog which we do not spay, we risk finding on the streets tiny kittens or puppies that are too small to fend for themselves, or injured ones, for which the costs to put them back on their feet are very high, if that is even possible.
We know this is not the ultimate solution; that is why we insist on having the laws changed and on the authorities to pay for the spaying campaigns, but that is a lengthy process.
