Many girls forced from home by violence, flooding or conflict now live in camps or with host families with little chance to attend school. This project will provide full-term sponsorships for displaced girls: school fees, uniforms, books and safe travel to class. Your gift will give one girl in a disrupted life the chance to open her books, sit in class, and hope for another path ahead.
When families flee conflict or natural disaster in Nigeria, girls often lose access to school entirely. Many live far from a safe classroom, or must help at home, or fear harassment on the way. Studies show displaced girls face greater risk of dropping out and never returning to class. Without support they fall behind, lose confidence, and miss chances to learn.
We will identify qualified girls aged 8-16 in displacement settings and partner with local schools. Each sponsorship includes tuition, uniform, books, and transport cost. Mentors will check on attendance and wellbeing. Girls will also join peer groups to rebuild confidence. Through consistent support, they will return to class and gain steadiness in their learning again.
When a displaced girl returns to class and carries her bag, she remembers that someone said, "You matter." Her family sees that schooling might still be possible. Communities learn that girls who were pushed aside can return to learning and contributing. Education lays the base so that a generation of girls living in the shadow of upheaval can step into their own journey, choosing more than just survival.
