Lack of Funds Keeps Displaced Girls Out of School

By Joy Ojochogwu Etubi | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

We are appealing for support for the Sponsor Education for Internally Displaced Girls project. At this time, no donations have been received. Without funding, we are unable to begin sponsoring displaced girls who are waiting for the opportunity to return to school.

Many girls forced from their homes due to conflict, violence, or natural disasters now live in camps or temporary settlements. In these conditions, access to education becomes difficult or impossible. Some girls cannot afford school fees, uniforms, or books, while others live too far from safe classrooms. Many remain out of school for extended periods, losing valuable learning time.

When girls are unable to attend school, they face increased risk of permanent dropout. Their chances of gaining literacy, skills, and future opportunities become limited. Families already facing hardship struggle to provide the support needed to return their daughters to school.

This project will sponsor displaced girls between the ages of 8 and 16 by covering school fees, uniforms, books, and transportation costs. Mentors will also monitor their attendance and provide encouragement to help them remain in school. These efforts will help girls return to structured learning and regain stability in their education.

Access to education gives displaced girls the chance to rebuild their confidence and pursue better opportunities in the future. Supporting their education also strengthens families and communities.

At present, no funds have been raised, and sponsorship support cannot begin. We kindly ask for your contribution to help displaced girls return to school and continue their education.

Sincerely,

Joy Ojochogwu Etubi
