The Long Road to Recovery - Paola's Story

By Carolyn Schuetz | Director/Treasurer, COANIQUEM BCF

Paola as a young burn victim
Paola as a young burn victim

Children who suffer severy burns often take years to recover to some level of a normal life.

Paola's story is an example of the treatment and care provided at COANIQUEM in Santiago, Chile, over a period of 14 years as she grows.  She has received medical treatment, including extensive surgeries; physical therapy, psychological counseling, and loving care.

From a burned child of 3 to a young woman of 16, Paola has progressed to a point of successful school and social activity.  However, she continues to receive appropriate treatment from COANIQUEM.

See the pictures attached:

This is why we continue to support the wonderful work of COANIQUEM!
