Youlou Arts Foundation 2014 Visual Arts Program
By camille musser | founder of Youlou Arts Foundation
Youlou Arts Foundation is springing into action with preparations for the 2014 children's visual arts program. The focus will be on the St.Vincent's Botanical Gardens. The plan is to place emphasis on the gardens until 2015 when it will be 250 years old. It is the oldest garden in the western hemisphere.
Paying homage to this fine garden is in keeping with our goal of teaching children about local and traditional culture.
Our "visiting artist" has designed a number of exciting projects around the garden theme. Using sculpture, embroidery, painting and poetry writing the plan is create excitement and wonder in the garden.
We are pleased and happy to announce this year's "visiting artist", Sherika Sayers is from St. Vincent and the Grenadines. She studied art at Fanshawe College in Ontario, Canada and is now back on the island intent on teaching art to children.
Stay tuned for the program schedule.
Thank you to all who support our mission.
