Dear Supporters,
We trust you are all doing well!
The second quarter of this year was marked with two hands-on projects in carpentry, refrigeration and air conditioning.
Refrigerator Troubleshooting Project
This project idea came to live by Mr. Joel Djeuya, an industrial technical teacher at our partner school. He realized that the practical courses in refrigeration and air conditioning workshops are in the need to follow the standards, and the training of learner through hands on initiative. Through a combined effort with its students, he found an unused double compartment refrigerator with two compressors of which only the circuit of a single compartment is functional. He then distributed the project work to the students over a period of five practical course sessions that took 3 months, following the one already carried out, namely:
The last procedure helped students to understand that they have to replace the compressor and the condenser, then the dehydrator, without forgetting the various elements of protection and electrical safety; oil and refrigerant.
While all components were acquired, the students completed this project in five sessions and achieved their practical objective. Each student was able to be familiar with the material, the mechanical aspect of it, the fluidic and electrical composition of the refrigeration device.
As a conclusion, they were all satisfy that these activities meet the objectives of the official program centered on cutting, working on pipes, assembling, welding and starting a compressor by voltage relay.
Wood Slats Project
The Wood Slats Project consisted of making free rules to assist to facilitate the execution of the drawing and the math lessons to avoid students to share instrument from one another. The activities for this assignment involved to make wooden slats, put the layers of varnish and paint it in yellow. Then, write the graduation in black on the wooden slats made-up.
These made-up rules have allowed the drawing teacher to be able to materialize on the board all that they have as teaching to transmit to the learner.
As a conclusion, please note that the basketball program of our young boys and girls continued throughout this quarter with the accomplishment of our boys who finished 4th in the ranking of the Littoral Regional Basketball League.
