Dear Supporter,
Thanks to your unwavering generosity, a story of pain is being rewritten into one of courage and hope.
Ammar suffered a life-altering injury when an artillery strike resulted in the loss of both his legs. In an instant, he was stripped of the most basic rights many of us take for granted—standing, walking, and moving freely. For nearly a year, he endured not only the physical aftermath of the injury, but also the emotional burden of a harsh new reality imposed by war.
Yet, Ammar held on to one powerful belief: every wound has a turning point.
That turning point began when he visited our Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Center in Afrin. Welcomed by a dedicated team, he embarked on a carefully designed treatment plan tailored to his injury and daily needs. This plan included the precision crafting of two prosthetic limbs and a structured training program to help him adapt and regain autonomy.
Today, Ammar is taking his first steps—literally. With his new prosthetic legs in place, he has begun daily rehabilitation sessions to build balance, strength, and self-reliance. Each step brings him closer to a long-awaited moment: walking independently once again, with confidence and determination.
Because of you, this moment is no longer a dream. It’s becoming reality.
With sincere gratitude,
