Nomadic groups in Niger Republic are often missed by HIV education and testing services due to movement, stigma, and limited access. This project will reach 4,000 nomads with basic HIV information, testing, and referral support. Local field teams will use mobile tools, audio messages, and community guides to deliver information in Hausa and Fulfulde, helping people understand how to protect themselves and others.
Nomads in Niger Republic face high HIV risks but lack access to information, testing, and care. Many live in remote areas without health workers or radio access. Myths, stigma, and language barriers keep people from knowing their HIV status or seeking help. Women and youth face added risks due to early marriage and abuse. Without proper education, the virus spreads quietly across communities.
This project will use mobile teams to reach 4,000 nomads with HIV education and safe testing options. Field workers will deliver messages in Hausa and Fulfulde, using local terms and examples. Audio tools and peer guides will be shared in camps and herding routes. Those who test positive will be referred to the nearest care center. The aim is to give people information they can use, wherever they are.
The project can slow HIV spread among nomads and reduce the number of undiagnosed people. With proper education, people are more likely to protect themselves, speak up, and access care when needed. Youth and women will benefit from better knowledge about consent and health. Over time, the project will help break stigma and build trust in mobile health tools that work across nomadic communities.
