Dear Donors,
Thank you for your interest in supporting the Stop HIV in Niger Republic: Educate 4,000 Nomads project. We appreciate everyone who recognizes the importance of reaching underserved populations with life-saving health information and services.
Nomadic communities face unique challenges when it comes to accessing healthcare. Because many families move frequently in search of pasture and water, they are often missed by traditional health programs. Limited access to health facilities, language barriers, stigma, and low awareness of HIV prevention contribute to gaps in knowledge and testing services.
At present, no funding has been secured to begin implementation of this project. While the need remains urgent, additional support is required before outreach activities, testing services, educational materials, and community mobilization efforts can commence.
This project is designed to reach 4,000 nomadic men, women, and young people with HIV education, testing opportunities, and referral support. Mobile teams will travel to nomadic settlements and migration routes, delivering information in Hausa and Fulfulde through community discussions, audio messages, and locally appropriate communication methods.
Access to accurate information is one of the most effective tools in reducing the spread of HIV. When people understand how HIV is transmitted, how to protect themselves, and where to seek care, they are better equipped to make informed decisions about their health and the wellbeing of their families.
We remain committed to launching this initiative and continue working toward the resources needed to begin the first phase. As support becomes available, we look forward to sharing updates from the communities reached and the impact of the project.
Thank you for helping bring health education and HIV services closer to nomadic populations who are too often overlooked.
Warm regards,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
