Dear Donors,
We are reaching out to seek support for the Stop HIV in Niger Republic: Educate 4,000 Nomads project. At this time, no donations have been received, and assistance is needed to launch this important public health effort.
Nomadic communities in Niger Republic are often left out of HIV education and testing due to constant movement, limited health access, stigma, and language barriers. Many families live far from clinics and do not receive accurate information about HIV prevention or testing. As a result, infections go undetected, myths persist, and the virus spreads quietly across camps and migration routes. Women and young people face added risks, yet have very little access to trusted health guidance.
This project is designed to reach 4,000 nomads through mobile outreach teams using tools that fit their way of life. Field workers will share clear HIV information in Hausa and Fulfulde, using audio messages, local guides, and simple explanations. Voluntary testing will be offered, and anyone who tests positive will be referred to nearby care centers. The goal is to meet people where they are and provide information they can use immediately.
By improving access to knowledge and testing, this project can reduce undiagnosed HIV cases, limit further transmission, and encourage early care. Over time, it can also reduce fear and stigma around HIV and build trust in mobile health services that reach nomadic populations.
We appeal for your support to help start this project and ensure that nomadic families are not left behind in HIV prevention efforts.
Sincerely,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
