Nigeria has the second-highest number of HIV-positive children in the world. HIV/AIDS devastates women and children in Nigeria, where 1.9 million people live with HIV, and 35% of new infections occur in children. Only 45% of pregnant women receive prevention services, leaving babies at risk. This project provides free testing, antiretroviral treatment, and education to disadvantaged women and children, stopping mother-to-child transmission and ensuring healthy futures. Your Donations saves lives!
Nigeria has the second-highest HIV burden globally, with women and children most affected. Without treatment, 1 in 4 HIV+ mothers pass the virus to their babies. Limited healthcare access, poverty, and stigma prevent lifesaving care, leaving families vulnerable to preventable suffering. Immediate support is needed for testing kits, medication, nutritional aid, and community education to break the cycle of HIV. Without treatment, even children born HIV-positive may not survive past age five.
This project delivers free life-saving HIV testing, antiretroviral treatment, and education to women and children in rural & low-income areas to prevent mother-to-child transmission. Antiretroviral therapy will be given to infected mothers to prevent transmission. Our trained female workers will visit them regularly to deliver drugs, check adherence, and report any side effects. Follow-up care will make it easier for them to stay on treatment without needing to travel to distant health Centers.
Stopping HIV transmission means healthier children born free of the virus. Mothers will live longer, stronger lives, supporting their families. Reduced stigma will lead to more people seeking testing and treatment. With regular treatment and follow-up, fewer people will die from preventable illness. Continued support can help reduce untreated cases in these areas over time, even without large health facilities nearby.
