Life Skills Training to Protect Vulnerable Teens

By Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

We sincerely thank those who have contributed to the Stop Transactional Sex among Teens with Life Skill project. Your support shows concern for teenage girls who are trying to survive difficult conditions in high-risk communities.

In parts of Benue, Jos, Lagos, Delta, and Imo States, many teen girls lack stable income, family care, or access to basic needs such as food, hygiene items, and school supplies. With limited options, some turn to transactional sex to survive. This exposes them to HIV, unplanned pregnancy, violence, and long-term harm. Many of these girls want safer options but do not have practical skills or start-up support.

This project is designed to train 1,000 vulnerable girls to produce soaps, disinfectants, reusable sanitary pads, and other hygiene products that are needed in every community. After training, each participant will receive small start-up support to begin selling these items. The skills are simple, locally suitable, and can be practiced from home or in small groups, giving girls a safer way to meet daily needs.

At this point, although a donation has been received, the amount available will not be able to kick start the project yet. Training sessions, materials, and start-up support cannot begin until further funding is secured.

With adequate support, this project can help girls avoid risky survival choices, return to school, and earn income with dignity. We will continue to share updates as plans move forward.

Thank you for standing with vulnerable girls and supporting safer paths for their future.

Kind regards,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
